La Rioja

December 2014

This was my last trip before I moved to Birmingham so it is kind of special. La Rioja is much more than wine (even though it is a great wine), you can find monasteries, beautiful villages, great food, welcoming people and of couse … wineries! I was seriously impressed with the Hotel Marqués de Riscal created by Frank Ghery which went to my list of places where I have to spend at least one night in my life.

And last but not least, Logroño, which is always a good idea.

La Rioja is an excellent destination to spend 3 or 4 days exploring, eating and drinking!

(Note: Elciego and Laguardia are located in the province of Álava, an area called La Rioja alavesa)
